Summary

Event 12th Rabi ul Awal
Date 08 Oct 22
Hijri Date 12 Rabi Ul Awal 1444 AH

The month of Rabi ul Awwal

The Islamic calendar’s third month is Rabi ul Awal. Rabbi means spring in Arabic, and al Awal is the first of the month. As a result, “The First Spring” is the literal translation of Rabbi ul Awwal as a whole. The birth of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (S.A.W.) in Rabi ul Awal is the most important and remarkable event. Rabi ul Awal is Islamic history’s most important month. This month, then, is celebrated as the one in which the birth of our great Prophet took place (S.A.W.).

The Prophet (S.A.W.)’s birth the month

People lived in a time of darkness and ignorance before the birth of the Prophet Mohammad (S.A.W.). They had various gods to whom they prayed. They had strayed from the true path that led to Allah. With his birth, the Prophet (S.A.W.) brought the message of Allah’s Oneness and the truth of His existence. As a result of hearing this message, the populace became more enlightened and better able to distinguish between right and wrong. There will be no more Prophets (A.S.) after our Prophet (S.A.W.), which is one of his greatest virtues. The Prophethood of Mohammad (S.A.W.) will endure until the end.

Muhammad (SAW) is not the father of [any] one of your men, but [he is] the Messenger of Allah and last of the prophets. And ever is Allah , of all things, Knowing.

Eid Milad un Nabi 2022

There is no consensus on the exact date, but most Muslims believe the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) was born in Rabi ul Awal. Most Muslims celebrate 12 Rabi ul Awal as the birthday of the Prophet (S.A.W.) and call it “Eid Milad un Nabi” in Europe, the US, Canada, South East Asia, India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Eid Milad un Nabi is celebrated with religious zeal. They celebrate by holding ‘Milad’ (poetry praising the Prophet S.A.W. ), having processions, exchanging gifts, and lighting mosques. In the Middle East and surrounding countries, Muslims do not celebrate this event on 12 Rabi ul Awal or any other day of this month because the Prophet (S.A.W.) or his Companions (R.A.) never celebrated any Prophet’s birthday (A.S.). Some Muslims celebrate Milad un Nabi, while others don’t.
